TIEGlobalSettings.WiaVersion

TIEGlobalSettings.WiaVersion

Declaration

property WiaVersion: TIEWiaVersion;

Description

Specifies which version of WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) is used to acquire images from WIA scanners and cameras.

WIA 2.0 is available on Windows Vista and newer. With WIA 2.0, the flatbed and the document feeder of a scanner are separate items, and images are transferred as files (BMP by default, or JPEG if TransferFormat is ietfJpeg). Use ActiveWiaVersion to determine which version is actually used.

The setting is read when the TIEWia object is created (i.e. when WIAParams or WIAParams is first accessed). If it is changed later, the new version is used from the next device list refresh or connection (see ActiveWiaVersion).
Note: Requires the IEIncludeWIA2 define (enabled by default). Otherwise, WIA 1.0 is always used.

Default: iewvWia1

Example

// Use WIA 2.0 if available
IEGlobalSettings().WiaVersion := iewvAuto;
