Hello,

After installing 8.7.5 first thing that I checked out was Text Layer feature (Demos\LayerEditing\Layers_Text). I have been waiting for such a feature.

Here I observed that if we enable the Rich Edit feature for text layer it automatically adds background this means rich text cannot have transparent background!

But if we set the text to plain text its background can be made transparent.

Is there any way by which we can make the background transparent for Rich Text?

If we save the file in PSD format and then reload it the text layers come up as image layers. Actually this should not happen.

In the same we if we load a PSD file which has text layer that particular text layer comes up as image layer.

Are there any changes of solving this problem in near future?

The great thing is that if we save the file in ImageEn Layer format (.ien) then the text layer is preserved as text layer and works just great.

TIA

Yogi Yang

Hi Yogi

Text Background: For widest support, we use a standard Windows Rich Text object to handle rendering behind the scenes. It does not support Alpha, so giving it a transparent background looks awful.

PSD Format: At this time we only support image layers in PSD files.
