In the Print Layout display in MS Word the page is always displayed with a Border around is (so you always see the nice Page shadow. We are using the Skinning Components from DevExpress to create a similar view in our software. We use the OnDrawBackground to draw the background and the page shadow.

Is it possible to specify a border to always make the page shadow visible?

Why not just set BackgroundStyle = iebsSoftShadow ?
I don't see a border around in MSWord Print Layout. There is just the shadow. Isn't it?
