there is a better way to simulate the 3d anaglyph effect then mine?

Hi

I don't know much about anaglyph, but wouldn't you need to start with two source images so that you can make objects in the foreground appear more 3D (greater Red/Green shift) than objects in the background? I.e. by applying some difference algorithm???
