Can 64-bit ImageEn apps use 32-bit Twain drivers?
No, they cannot.
32-bit applications see only 32-bit Twain drivers, while 64-bit applications sees only 64-bit Twain drivers.
32-bit drivers are located in sub-folders of "C:\Windows\twain_32", while 64-bit drivers are located in sub-folders of "C:\Windows\twain_64". You can examine these folders to see which devices a 32 or 64-bit application should see.
You should use WIA instead of Twain. For 64bit support on Windows, manufacturers usually include a "WIA over Twain" driver.
If you need to test 64bit Twain support, you can use the FreeImage Software scanner driver:
