When I try to assign the current layer to an image layer (same kind) I get access violation. Please see the very minimal example:

procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
begin
fImgLayer := TIEImagelayer.create(nil);
fImgLayer.Assign(imageenview1.CurrentLayer);
end;
