Currently, TImageEnView.BackgroundStyle and BackgroundColors affect BOTH:
the area BEHIND the image
and the area AROUND the image

Is it possible to have SEPARATE background settings for each of both areas?

That would be very useful!

This concerns images where some parts of the image are transparent: In such a case I want to see a chessboard pattern for the transparent areas of the image and a solid color AROUND the image.

So when loading an image containing transparent areas I could set ImageEnView1.SetChessboardStyle, since loading any image apparently resets a previous setting created with SetChessboardStyle.

This is true. I'll look at this for a later version.
