I can see that I can find the current active image in the ImageENMView grid via the ImageSelect event but there doesn't seem to be a property to give me the same data.

Not sure why I have to have it the other way, it's just the way my mind works I guess.

Am I overlooking the property or it the ImageSelect idx parameter the only way to retrieve the active image index?

If ImageEnMView1.MultiSelect is False then
ImageEnMView1.SelectedImage returns the index of the selected image.
If ImageEnMView1.MultiSelect is true then the selected images are
var
  iSelectedIndex: integer; 
for i :=0 to ImageEnMView1.MultiSelectedImagesCount-1 do
begin
  iSelectedIndex := ImageEnMView1.MultiSelectedImages[i];
end;
