Hi,
I'm looking for components to replace the Kodak Imaging OCX in Delphi XE3.
Actually I use the imgedit and imgadmin OCX components to scan new documents in multipage tiffs, add/remove/move pages on these multipage tiffs and add and print those tiffs with and without annotations (image and/or text annotations)..
Searching the web I found your ImageEN website, but I'm looking for some trial version of the components to install on my Delphi XE3 and try some coding to see if this will work for me, is there any?

I found your demos but I could not find one to do what I need.
Which demo do you recommend to:
1) scan new documents and save as multipage tiffs;
2) add/remove/move pages to this file;
3) add image annotations to this file and print them?
Also, what is kind of components I'll use on Delphi, is it compatible with Delphi XE3? Is it OCR or VCL components?

I need to test it!
Since you dont offer a trial version, which one of your demos do you recommend to test the following:
1) scan new documents and save as multipage tiffs;

There are no official demos that I am aware of that have all three features:
1) scan new documents and save as multipage tiffs.
2) add/remove/move pages to this file.
3) add image annotations to this file and print them.
But here is a link to an exe which may do what you are look for:

Ok but, can the ImageEn components do what I need?
You don't offer trial version and there are no demos that can do what I need, how am i supposed to buy something without knowing if it can do what I need?
Can you check that for me?

I do not work for ImageEn so your question should not be directed to me. I was trying to be helpful. I am a developer just like you.
ImageEn is a very large library with a tremendous amount of features so it is impossible to develop demos that cover all of the available features of ImageEn.
Suffice it to say that ImageEn can achieve what you are looking for. It can scan documents, it can handle multipage tiff files including adding, removing and moving tiff pages, and it can handle annotations and print the file.
I am sure Nigel (ImageEn developer) will handle any remaining questions you may have.

I have been developing with imageen for over 30 years, so I have used ImageEn for many... many things. To see what you can do, browse the website and browse the user demo pages. Although some of the user demos have exe's many do not, but nearly all of the demo pages provide some discussion about the demo along with screen shots.

wow 30 years, congrats!
Looking at the demos, I believe that ImageEn is more focused on creating and editing images, I'm looking for something more simple, to work with black and white multipage tiffs that I scan lots of every day using twain drivers..
I have more than 2 million tiffs files and I scan new ones every minute, then I only need to add/remove/move pages on that tiffs and add annotations and print them.
I hope Nigel can help me!

Your belief that ImageEn is more focused on creating and editing images completely not correct. As I already stated, ImageEn can handle and do a very good job of scanning, adding, deleting and moving pages and print images with or without annotations.
There is no other vcl component that does as much with respect to imaging or as easily used than ImageEn. The components have been developed for a very long time, and are updated very frequently with bug fixes and new features.
If you are doing vcl development with Delphi, take my word for it... there is nothing better available for Delphi.

This is a picture of my current project using the Kodak Imaging OCX components:

I need a replacement for these components as they are old (back from 1998) and are not working well in windows 10.
As I said, I need to scan new documents, save them as multipage tiffs (acquiring from TWAIN drivers).. Then I need to add/remove/move pages and (very important) I need to add annotations (both text and image) to the files and print them.

Eu estou de férias no momento não estou com meu computador em mãos para lhe criar uma demo
Uma observação você disse que quer fazer algo simples scanear adicionar anotações salvar em tiff com várias páginas e depois imprimir, infelizmente isso não é simples por isso usamos imageen para facilitar nossos projetos. Eu sou programador a 10 anos e posso lhe garantir eu conheço centenas de componentes e o melhor para sua necessidade é imageen
Só existe um componente Third Party para Délphi que faz tudo isso de uma forma simples e eficiente.
Imageen possui suporte a instruções SSE MMX para carregar arquivos tiff grandes com várias páginas

Caso você possua dúvidas ainda aconselho acessar o site
www.torry.com compare com outros componentes eu tenho certeza que você não vai encontrar nenhum componente que faça tudo isso que você precisa é de uma forma simples.

Fábio ocx não lhe dá suporte nativo esse ocx da Kodak não é bom não imageen possui um controle nativo para essas suas necessidades
Você vai gastar seu dinheiro atoa comprando esse ocx é muito ineficiente comparado com imageen

Eu não quero comprar o OCX hehe, você viu a imagem que mandei ali? Eu já uso esse OCX da Kodak que vinha com o Windows 95, mas quero atualizar pra algum componente que tenha suporte e atualizações, foi assim que encontrei o ImageEn.
Eu quis dizer que não vou fazer edições avançadas nas imagens, somente escanear em multipage tiff, colocar anotações e imprimir, foi isso que eu quis dizer com "simples".
Eu desenvolvo um sistema pra cartório e um dos módulos é um GED que gerencia toda essa parte de documentos digitalizados, conforme imagem que mandei acima.

Eu tenho várias soluções para otimizar esse módulo do seu sistema
Por exemplo usar banco de dados ao invés de usar pasta com arquivos de imagem
Eu desenvolvo um software para manipulação de imagem com arquivos entre 5 mega até 30 mega
Salvo tudo no banco de dados usando imageen com um algoritmo avançado de compreensão de dados em campos do tipo BLOB
Para sistemas de gestão a melhor solução em ambiente de rede é seguir meu conselho
Salvar arquivos em pasta é uma solução antiga que não representa a evolução do segmento de TI
O facebook salva fotos no banco de dados
O segredo é saber o que usar e como usar
O bill acabou de publicar um tópico aqui no fórum
Para lhe ajudar
Infelizmente você precisa comprar imageen para poder ter suas próprias conclusões
No meu ponto de vista imageen é a melhor opção para seu caso
