Hi,

I'm testing image acquisition using a memory stick containing a DCIM folder.

Using your Acquisition Demo I get three entries in the devices list.

a) "WIA - F:\" - which lists the API as TWAIN, device type Unknown
b) "F:\" - which lists the API as WIA, device type Camera
c) "UDISK2" - which lists the API as DCIM (WPD presumably), device type False.

The problem I'm having is acquiring multiple images. If if use "WIA - F:\" (twain) then I get the "Get Pictures from" dialog and I can multi-select and all the images are acquired. (This still seems to screw up auto-rotation of the image btw)

If I use "F:\" (WIA) then I get the same "Get Pictures from" dialog, I can still multi-select, but only the first image is acquired (and there's no progress bar on the demo).

My users (currently just QA) are getting mightily confused by this and the different array of devices.

Thanks
Stuart

Hi Stuart

Unfortunately Windows and vendors offer different API methods to access the same device. At this time ImageEn does not filter the acquisition list in any way.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the info. I'm just a bit confused as to why the exact same camera UI will acquire multiple images on one driver selection, but won't on another selection (even though multi select is possible).

Just to be sure, are you saying this is a driver issue?

Thanks & sorry for my ignorance,
Stuart

Hi Stuart

I'm not aware of any issues with our WIA API failing to retrieve multiple images. I will check this soon.

Hi Stuart

I'm afraid I cannot find any issues when testing it on my system.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for testing this. Do you have any info/links that will help me figure out what actual drivers are installed on my o/s and how to upgrade?

Thanks
