Hello,

I tried with ImageEn 8.1.2, Delphi 10.3 and Win10 to show a video in MP4 format in ImageEnMView. I can see the video in the list, but date is shown as "1899-12-31...". Also with ImageEnView I can't show it.

After that I tried with some ImageEn Demos, f.e VideoPlayer, but also with that no success. Also .avi and .mpg I can select in VideoPlayer, but nothing is shown.

Is there something I have to beware? Win10 is showing all these videos.

regards
Gerd

Hi

There are different factors in play here:

When displaying thumbnails, TImageEnMView uses a Windows Explorer interface to get a display thumbnail.

When loading a video into TImageEnMView (e.g. using TImageEnMVieww.MIO.LoadFromFile() it attempts to use DirectShow,

Firstly, with regard to thumbnails, I think a recent Windows update has messed with the MPEG handler in Explorer, as I can no longer display thumbnails for MPEG files in Windows Explorer on my test machines. Using Windows Explorer, do you see thumbnails?

Regarding the date, is this the edit or create date?

As for video playback, you probably do not have an MPEG DirectShow filter.

Hello Nigel,
in windows explorer I can see a thumbnail

The date is shown like this
iemvSort.ImageInfoText[idx] := GetImageDateStr(iemvSort.MIO.Params[idx]);
