Hello Nigel,

Sorry if I sound hell bend on getting this functionality implemented properly.

But for us this is one very crucial feature.

I test this in Layers_AllTypes demo. Here are the problems that I have noticed:
  • The layers when cropped tend to get displaced and also the size of the merge layer is smaller then the size of selected layers

  • When we have selected multiple layer IE is not merging Mask layer with main layer which I think it should

  • The mask layer cannot be merged even if we select image Layer and its Mask and press Merge button

  • If we open 300 dpi PSD files with multiple layers IE is slowing down to a crawl on my test PC which is Core i7 7th Gen with 16 GB RAM. You click on a layer it takes hell of a long time to get selected and for the sizing handles to appear

I am attached screen shots for reference.

Before Layer Merge:

After Layer Merge:

TIA

Hi Yogi

I could not reproduce any of the four above issues with specified test file (which does not match the layers in the above image).

Can you give me a source image and the precise steps to take.

Hello Nigel,

Thanks.

I will ask my boss to get in touch with you.

In the meantime can you add a parameter like: GenerateMergeMaskLayer

If this parameter is False Mask Layer should not be generated and if it is True then Mask Layer should be generated only if selected layers have Mask associated with them.

TIA

Hi Yogi

Sorry, I'm not following. If layers have masks then the masks are merged into a single mask during the merge process. Are you saying the mask should be merged too?

Hello Nigel,

I am saying mask should be merged with main layer too.

And this functionality should be based on a parameter which if set then only this should happen.

TIA
