Hello,

This is just mind boggling.

Developers are unleashing their creativity in unimaginable ways. And putting their work out in the open!

It seems this developer is challenging Adobe directly.

https://github.com/storytold/photocraft

It is fantastic though buggy.

https://github.com/storytold/photocraft/releases/tag/v0.5.0

After looking at this I feel Nigel should take maximum help from AI to get a few things in shape, like the Layer Palette. It still looks very unprofessional and is hard to use due to lack of proper features. Also the built-in dialogs needs to be more polished.

And now the time has come to rebuild ImageEN from ground up for FireMonkey using AI. What used to take years (it took us 1 year to build PS clone) to design and build is now possible in a week or so.

Note: Please do not take my suggestion negatively. I just care for ImageEN.

Thank you for sharing this.

After testing it out here are my suggestions.

I have always has issues with the Text handling feature in ImageEn. Because of this had to build own text handling mechanism.

I am not complaining but the software PhotoCraft pointed to here has very powerful text handling. Something that I have always wished ImageEn to have out-of-the-box. It would be great if ImageEn team studied it and improves text handling.

There are many other features like the Adjustment dialogs and the live preview that which is almost instant even with very large images. In case of ImageEn I build a work around of generating a screen resolution (72 dpi) copy and place it on top of the active layer and apply the adjustment live on it to show preview.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my two cents.

Nigel, I believe that with the latest Claude Opus, building a FireMonkey version of ImageEn, as Yogi Yang suggested, is now more achievable than ever.

FireMonkey has proven to be a solid, stable, and actively maintained framework by Embarcadero for over a decade, used by thousands of developers worldwide.

It would be a dream to see ImageEn running natively on iOS and Android. I really hope this direction gets considered!

Hi

We are using Claude and Cursor inhouse these days. Currently, we are reviewing all the source code to hunt out bugs and deepen our unit testing of ImageEn, but cross platform FMX support is something we plan to look at soon. A few years ago we did a funding campaign to gauge support for ImageEn on FMX and it fell short, so you can understand why we've been taking our time with it.

Perhaps you can give me a list of the ImageEn features you want/need in ImageEn/FMX?

Yes I know that and I respect your decision. At that time you probably also said that as ImageEN is based on windows img (or something) library it would be hard to port it to FMX.

But personally I feel making ImageEN cross platform is the need of the day and the next logical thing.

Initially, it could start with basic image viewing and editing features, including **zoom, touch gestures, rotation, text, layers, curves, image saving, and ImageEnProc processing**.

Camera support (front and rear on mobile devices) would also be important, along with **GPU acceleration using FMX.Effects and Skia** for real-time shaders and effects on camera frames, printing, Undo, and Redo.

I've implemented some of these features in FireMonkey using TImageControl, but it has many limitations.

I believe these features would cover my initial needs quite well.

Thank you, Nigel!
