I found the two files:

deu.traineddata
deu-frak.traineddata

Do I need deu-frak.traindeddat for OCR?

Hi Harry

deu-frak.traineddata is only for German Fraktur, that old style German script that you don't see so much of these days.

Yes, the latest OCR update has greatly improved recognition accuracy.
